Hi, I'm Annette! My passion for storytelling started at an early age. I love creating new characters and exploring unique relationships. Unexpected romances and crazy twists on old tropes excite me and leave me wanting more.
Growing up, I wanted to be all those things that a lot of kids dream of being: a nurse, a doctor, a teacher, and a famous actress. I started writing unexpectedly when I was sixteen years old. I went home sick from school and found myself in a dark mental place. That day, I wrote my first poem that went on to win an Editor's Choice Award from the International Library of Poetry.
My Early Writing Years
I wrote poetry for many years before I felt brave enough to tackle bigger writing projects. As a lover of television and movies, I started writing screenplays. I truly loved that form of storytelling, but the competitiveness and uncertainty of breaking into that field made me realize that it wasn't for me.
I wanted to be in control of my own stories, and my career as a creative entrepreneur.
Writing Novels
The first novel I wrote was a romantic suspense that is still sitting on my hard drive in need of editing. It was a big undertaking, but I was so excited when I finished it that I immediately started writing my next book. It was a sappy women's fiction novel that also needs a great deal of editing.
After writing those two books, I wasn't sure if I had what it took to write books. Then in 2020, I read over 100 books, and by the end of that year, I had an idea for a series that I was bursting with excitement about. I wrote the first book during NaNoWriMo of that year, and then proceeded to write seven more books in 2021.
